Hello Internets,
As you may or may not know, I have been applying to jobs like a madman lately. Before I got the site live, it was mostly a practice in writing cover letters. In one of my flurries though I was given a call back to from the good folks over at Digital Vision Productions this past week and they offered me the chance to come in an interview with them.
I, of course, accepted, made the proper arrangements, and took the long drive out to Great Neck, Long Island. It was quite an adventure to be sure. The interview went well enough, though it was a lot shorter and more impersonal than I had expected, but, that is business world I suppose.
I felt strongly that I had come prepared and was the best "self" I could present. Job or not, I was able to pull a lot away from the experience of my first big interview, some stuff I was even able to incorporate right away, such as a few minor changes to the site and my resume. Though I hope to hear back from them with good news soon, my job hunt continues.
Sidebar: Later that night, I was able to film the Ryan Leslie and BadVerb concert at Iona College, while I coordinated the 'Portopia' shoot happening here at school. It was a little difficult juggling two shoots over 250 miles apart but it all worked out well, and was a great experience. Look for the footage coming soon!
